Mesa Boogie "clone" build
« on: November 12, 2016, 11:44:54 pm »
im planning on building a mesa boogie dual rectifier but i want to get rid of the effects loop, and simplify it a bit. my biggest question is: could i just build the preamp and send it straight to the power amp and get rid of the switching matrix? im confused on what the switching matrix actually does because there are switches in the preamp to go between "orange"and "red". any help is appreciated, this will be a monster project. heres the schematics ill be using http://www.freeinfosociety.com/electronics/schemview.php?id=507

The amp has the switch Ry2 that essentially removes the loop from the circuit so yes you can build it without the fx-loop.

If you wan't to build just one channel look at the truth table on your link and draw the schematic again with ldr's switched to right positions.  Channel option are: orange normal, orange clean, orange modern, red normal and red vintage.

Ohhh so the LDRs arent physical  switches there just point in the switching matrix? I think i get it. I really wanted to do this on terminal strips but i guess ill have to etch a board now. Thanks.
