This was a fun 2 day project last weekend.  I was asked if I could improve the amp inside this 1947 Ampro speaker cabinet that was originally used in schools with the projectors.  Someone had previously installed the wood supports inside the cabinet and mounted a crappy SE 12ax7/el84 amp in there.  It sounded awful.  The speaker is really nice, an original Jensen from 1946!  That made the whole project idea come to mind.  I told him my idea of gutting it, installing new transformers and building in a tweed 5f2-a circuit.  He liked the idea and asked me to do it on a specified budget.  2 days later this was the end result.
