Ah. Chuck.  What a class guy.  His passing has saddened me more than any other musician since Jimi.

Nobody, NOBODY, has been been ripped-off more than Chuck.  Not only the tunes and the licks, he was never given the acknowledgment that he deserved and he never received anywhere near the monetary compensation that he deserved.  But he was always quick with a smile and he always kept on playing.

Some people have been saying that he wasn't a very good guitarist.  Yeah, well, we've been playing Chuck's tunes for forty-some-odd years, and we've never once played one right.  Because we can't.  And we know it.  I can guarantee you that those critics cannot play it right, either.  But they don't know it.

There are really only two guys that profoundly shaped popular music in the last hundred years, and Chuck was one of them.

RIP, sir.

Yelp Sad, every since I first pickup up a guitar in the early 60's he's been around influencing me. Sometimes when I'm playing lead rock n roll licks he just comes out UN-expectantly and I'm thinking, Wow! that's Chuck. Other times I do him absolutely on purpose. He will definitely live on in most of us older pickers because he's just ingrained in us by osmosis. I'll never forget! Platefire
