Adding a LED strip to a 6g15 tube reverb
« on: April 24, 2017, 07:33:19 pm »
I have seen several videos on youtube of people pimping their guitar amp with LEDs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRqwstSKnzw

It looks like they all use a separate power supply. Would it be ok to add a 12V transformer wired to the power jack (or the fuse ? or the switch ?) and get rid of the external P.S. ?
Is it too hum / noise risky  :dontknow:

I'd guess that you'd want to rectify it to DC first, and then you still could introduce noise from the LED's themselves, yes.  If you know of any intelligent means of blocking any interference from the LED's that would be smart, but not sure if anyone has done this.  Some form of faraday cage around the controls and LED's?

Those are the common LED lights sold on Amazon
So a 12 volt supply is used

Here's one on Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Hatori-Car-Kit-Atmosphere-Lights/dp/B01KHJIRYY/ref=sr_1_4

Never tried the ones that have the remote control, so I can't say what effects the control box would have on nearby circuits
