I like sotexampco better.   :icon_biggrin:

Best regards,  Jeff

I don't know if we are around the same age or who would be older?  I'll be 67 this year.

I'm thinking the "old fart" phrase is dated to more our generation?  (and perhaps with some affection and/or humor)  So, if you're wanting to "draw customers towards you", then I don't know about "old fart"?    People in their 40's and especially 30's and 20's .......... sometimes don't value older individuals like we may have in the 50's and 60's.

When I was younger I thought old people were "keepers of secret knowledge" & loved listening to them and learning from them. They had knowledge that seemed remarkable that us younger kids didn't have at all.  They knew "cool stuff!"   I think nowadays,  older individuals knowledge has been overshadowed  by the convenience of "google ".

Don't know if your question was a serious one or not?  But that's my honest take on it.  Pete, I think you're brilliant and worthy of ALOT of respect because of the great knowledge and expertise you have. I hope whatever name you choose, brings the respect with it that you definitely deserve.

Gee,  I was just a little slow on the uptake on that one.   :BangHead:   :icon_biggrin:

Wear the South Texas name proudly!    I have mentioned it before on the forum ........... my relatives settled in 1833 in the hill country around San Saba - Lampasas area.  They were cattle ranchers.

Best regards, Jeff

Pete,

How bout that!  We have something in common.  The Frasier side of my family (grandmother's side) were cattle ranchers and settled in the Merryville - DeRidder area of Louisiana which is near the Sabine river dividing Texas and Louisiana.

(Little known piece of history:  there were some previous sea faring pirates that created settlements up and down the Sabine river.  Reportedly, they were a rather ruthless group of individuals)

Looks like we both have some La. & Tx roots that go waaay back.  :icon_biggrin:

I personally have lived in New Orleans, DeRidder, Monroe and Bossier City ........... all in Louisiana.

Any chance your Brit ancestry married French in Canada and you have a little Cajun blood also.  It's my understanding, that many of the french speaking cajuns were originally from Canada.

Where abouts in Louisiana did your family settle?

Jeff

I have German ancestry on both dad and mom sides of the family.  Germans that fled to Switzerland on dad's.  Germans that fled to Holland on mom's. So, I guess I have a dash of Dutch ancestry also.  Mom's family heritage was Mennonite  dairy and wheat farmers and they spoke "haute deutsch" (sp?).

Alot of Texas (as you know) was settled by Germans.   New Braunsfel,  Fredericksburg, etc......
