Speakers for a BFSR build
« on: August 12, 2017, 09:22:16 pm »
So I'm getting ready to build a Hoffman AB763/6G16 to go into a Super Reverb 4x10 cabinet and I've got to buy some 10" speakers for the amp.  So I'm looking for some feedback on some good quality 10 inchers for the amp.  I can go with Jensen ceramics like the original but is there anything else out there that would be better and reasonably priced?  Looking for opinions.  Thanks in advance.

I assume you are looking for 8 ohm speakers? Wired up for 2 ohms like the Super?
I really like the Eminence Legend 10's ceramic and alnico. I have a ceramic in a '79 Princeton and love it. They aren't too expensive. It would be cool to have both alnico and ceramic Legend 10's in a 4 x 10 cab (or other brands of speaker) .

Thank you sir.  I'll check them out.  Mixing 2 and 2 is a great idea.
