Re: Hoffman AB763 one channel

Hello, so I ordered my ab763 one channel build and have been studying the scematic and project pics and i have a question about the Caps. I plan on following the placement used in the project build page. I'm a little confused as far as the cap placement in the chassis on the up close project page pics. It looks like cap A is a single cap, and the fifth cap is connected on the board differently than whats on the schematic. It also looks like the Cap closest to the input jacks is connected to lug with the 100k to v V1-6 Tube Red wire lug. Also on the project page pics the A Cap(Large Blue grounded to PT) is a different brand? The reason why I ask is, by the schematic I thought that's were the 2 22uf caps for A would be placed. Thanks ahead of time. I gonna try to attach a pics of what I'm talking about

My build from years ago may be totally different than yours

You hook up the proper caps as listed in the PDF file on the library page

The layout points A,B,C,D are shown on the PDF
You use the document below for your build, not my one time build pictures form, many years ago

KimboDb

I have parts for the single channel Deluxe Reverb as well.

I am going to put mine into a head cabinet so I am making a custom faceplate for the chassis I have.

I use a gal that has a company called PrecisionDesign.

I am going to start working on my faceplate, I can help guide you with the info that I have collected.

What chassis are you using?

Deluxe reverb chassis, ill get the specifics but i want the faceplate to look a lot like the one on the ab763 project page. ill even settle for a vinyl sticker face plate like on the red knob fender amps like the super 60 112 2x10

Take a look at Mojotone. They have a guy named John I believe that runs that custom faceplate and graphics department.  He can make custom adjustments for a standard faceplate and he can put your name on it in Fender Font.

Reasonable and efficient.

If you have a Mojo chassis, then Mojo can just start with the info they already have for that chassis

If you want to do your own take a look at this:  http://www.frontpanelexpress.com/downloads/front_panel_designer/?no_cache=1

I have use it on a few to do my own face plates.. design them, take to print shop, print on thick stock, seal with clear spray paint,
install behind plexi glass on the chassis...Works pretty good for my own.

I got the chassis of eBay from a guy in Arkansas. I was gonna use a my super 112 chassis but decided since I don't have the tools to cut and punch small tube holes to just sell the amp on reverb or to my brother.  Ill probably order the faceplate later down the line after I confirm the spacing and amount of holes I used. I really like the script and look of the Super Vibrolux on the project page. All I got left to order are the cab and faceplates. Thanks everyone for the input and suggestion. This will be my 2nd amp build from scratch.

Make sure you take accurate measurements.  Everyone's chassis are a little different.

Guides on your quest for tone.
Oh yeah, and I'm usually just kidding so don't take me too seriously.
