I was hoping to find a couple of nice black and white photo's of Robert Johnson playing slide that I could glue on the front and back.
The body measures 300mm x 250mm

Any thoughts

Not so much for an electric or amplified one, but I left off installing pick ups until she ask for an amp. But with the sound holes it is still a little more quiet than hoped. So that's a good thing, Mom N Dad wont be telling her to turn it down yet and, Ill be thanked for it not being too loud.

For an amp, Try a firstact Ma104, or one its variants, about $30 at Toys R Us.  (batteries or wall wart needed).  It will still sound better unplugged. 

On the loudness, the pickup housing glued to the top is dampening the vibrations.    If you are willing to modify, mount the pickup housing to the neck assembly, and allow the top to vibrate independently of the pickup.

My fret spacing is copied from a Fender 22.5 scale neck I have. I own a 1962 Fender Duo-sonic, which I replaced the neck on years ago but kept the org. neck.  I chose this for a couple of reasons. One, the normal length Gibson 24.75 or Fender 25.5 scale looks odd to me on a Cigar Box guitar. Long thin neck and smallish body. Two, it is considered a beginners scale length and three, less string tension on my home made neck.  It makes for an over all more equal looking guitar to me anyway.  Now if I was to start building for / to sale, say 1 or 2 a month. I would get a fret scale marking template from CBgitty or make my own, and would build both long and short scale neck guitars.  No pickups yet, it is setup to install a rod piezo in the bridge someday if she wants. I left the bridge loose so if she gets the hang of things and wants to use a slide someday you just flip the bridge up on it's side. The reason this one is quieter than others acoustically, is I supported the bridge under the top for that reason. So it will not bow down under flipping the bridge someday. Right now it is a compromise for easy chording / fingering and some light slide use.  I do wish I could build them to sale, get say $140.00 for one. That cost me $25.00 in parts / wood and $300.00 in labor.  I'd go broke real quick, but I'd have something to do when I had nothing better to do..
