Frankenplexi 2 Mini
« on: September 02, 2017, 03:51:44 pm »
I have been building these in a larger chassis, and decided to go with some builds
using Doug's 6V6 plexi boards and the Stout 3 chassis.  It was a tight fit using Mojo Dijon
caps, and installing the switching to swap the bass circuit and lead circuit.
The amp sounds great, and you can dime all the controls, in both lead and bass circuits, stable.

I just picked up the cabinet, and installed the handle and feet last night.
The buyer took the choice of a dark green tolex.  At the moment, I am using a red anodized aluminum
face plate on these, but do have other choices in color.  These are laser etched, and show white
where the lettering is placed.

Now to find someplace that can do my Hawkehaven Amp logo.

The owner will take possession this week, and when the Name plate is ready...will install later.
"I am never surprised, and always amazed".

Rear Plate view...

Power switch is an off-standby-on type.

Beautiful work! That's a tight fit indeed. How is hum an other noise, besides being stable?

Thanks!

Noise level is quite reasonable when dimed.  The one I use for gigs, I run
about 2/3 up on Master and the 2 volumes... is very quiet.
Cranked, it is rockin'!
