Wiring 6cm6 tube socket!
« on: September 10, 2017, 02:15:33 pm »
    Hello everyone,
I want to soy say ahead of time that I appreciate all input on this problem. Also, my knowledge of tube amps is tiny. I've built one amp. Rob Robinette's "deluxe micro". It is a nice little amp but want a little more output. So, I am putting a 6cm6 power tube in it. The problem that I am having a problem understanding the wiring of the tube socket. Anyways, if someone could help me I would be soooo happy!!!

          Thnx!

A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

DummyLoad  (Pete) and I worked on a push/pull low watt gallery of amp designs yrs ago ...................

Maybe there will be something there that would be useful to you:

you are going to need a different output transformer as well. an 8W 100Hz-15KHz 10k ohm reflected sould work. 400V is too much & will not sound worth a damn with that much B+. 300-325V is where you want to be with that tube. 6MC6 is a 6V6GT in 9 pin package.

Thnx for the replies. Would the classic tone 40-18031 a proper output transformer?
