Layout for cathoydne phase inverter -power section
« on: November 12, 2017, 05:52:42 am »
:help: :l2:Can somone with access to a computer or the files help me?

I need a custom Layout for a 6g2 style phase inverter and following power section

Btw it looks as the Princeton phase inverter hasn't changed since then huh?

It's been the same since the brownface.

I've been reading up on phase inveters and it seems that for smaller bottle  (and big) The cathoydne is a really good phase splitter.

More headroom than the long tail?

I think the long tail is used to push the bigger tubes harder.

So the topic came up about gain from the phase inverter and while a cathoydne is basically unity gain its 1/2 a tube (12a_7) and ltp is two triode yet produces the gain one 1/2 a tube or one triode.

Long story short here I want to try the cathoydne in a build over the lip.

Also i belive part of the tweed/Princeton flavor is in part from yea olden phase inversion.

Thanks feller.

Already been done. Just look at one of the non-tremolo amps such as 5E3 or 5F10.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!
