About Tremolo
« on: November 14, 2017, 11:23:02 am »
I have been tuning tremolo in many amp projects and it's always a very frustrating work to change
the circuit over and over again. The biggest problem is usually thumping/ticking especially with higher speed.

I have learned that the more amplitude and speed you set the more thumping.

The thumping is also dependent on to which cathode in the circuit the tremolo is connected.

I have attached a picture of a cathode tremolo circuit used in Vibro Champ.

There you can quite easily control the oscillation:

For instance by increasing the C1 value the oscillation become slower and the amplitude increases.
That can be compensated by decreasing the value of resistor R6 which makes the oscillation faster.

If someone knows what is the most silent and working tremolo circuit please tell it.
