6bm8 plexi amp
« on: November 28, 2017, 06:55:23 pm »
Hi there guys. Recently I’ve built 6bm8 bassman aka little wing amp, and its realy great sounding amp but now I want  to tweak it a little bit. I was wondering is there any way it can sound similar to 1987 plexi??

I turned my mini Bassman into the Hoso 56.  That is certainly not an 87 Plexi but it is a cool amp.  I am getting ready to rebuild it with some tweaks.

Unless I'm looking at it wrong I think V1-B pin numbers are mislabeled.

Wow, very quick and helpful answers. Thank you all. I'm just wondering is it worth modding, or I should build something like 18 watt plexi  :dontknow:

I stand by my previous response, and elabortate. The Mini Bassman converted into the HoSo 56 pretty well.  I had to do some creative board work and that is fun.  I think I re-built that amp three times and finally settled on a modified HoSo 56 with an FX loop which I am starting soon from scratch.

The Hoffman 18 Watt Plexi is an exceptional amp, I would get a new chassis and make that amp a nice clean beast.
