Two part video comparing coupling caps in a tube amp. Interesting.

Certainly everyone know value change is noticeable, much ore noticeable than the type of cap.  I have some nice test equipment and have checked the same way.  I can hear differences, but read the thread as it contains a lot of others testing different caps in different amp positions.

I think you will find it interesting if you are interested in these videos.  On another note, I recapped a pair of passive crossovers in some Altec VOT speakers and tried solen caps first, but changed them to Jenzens and Dayton as I noticed a harsher horn and the Altec horn makes these speakers what they are.

I'll bet they test the same.  It is like guys who prefer Outlaw SS amps over tube amps.  I have been told tubes color the sound.  I guess I prefer the color.

My conclusion is that the position in the signal chain has a significant impact on whether one capacitor sounds significantly "better" then another.

With respect, Tubenit

Last week, I bought .022uF caps from Angela Electronics, paper in oil , pure copper leads. I paid over 25 bucks Canadian each one. Theyre still in the package. I look forward to see the difference between them and the polyprop. orange drops that cost under a buck......
Don't miss the Woodstock experience : ''FORTY YEARS AFTER'' at Club Soda,  in Montreal, august the 17th and 18th and october the 27th. Fifteen musicians onstage.  AWESOME !
P.S.: call me Alvin.
