  Premier Reverb
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm building a premier reverb 90, I'm not sure what kinda secondary VAC I need on my PT, I was thinking ~120-140, now I'm thinking ~170???? I need 150VDC after first Filter cap(half wave)hammondmfg.com/pdf/5c007.pdf
this may help, i'm confused!!!

Hammond PT's are rated for VDC (after the rectifier) so if you need a B+ of 170, you can buy the hammond rated at 170. A rectifier will be the AC voltage x 1.41 (minus the voltage drop in a tube rectifier) So, if you want a B+ of 170, divide that by 1.41 and you'll get 120 vac. That would apply to a non-hammond PT, of course.

If you want 150V use a transformer that puts out 110V loaded. But why half wave? Bridge rectifiers are cheap. Also I think most circuits would want 250V.

The Premier only needs ~150VDC after the first electrolytic... only about 100V on the tubes
I have a schematic w/ all the voltages marked, but this isn't it

I have owned one since 1967. It was a high school graduation gift from my mother. (so im old big deal) IMO it is not the best sounding reverb. I used it for a year or two, had it in the attic until a year ago (30+yrs) i replaced all the capacitors, resistors, and reverb tank. Its sounds alittle better now than it did back then but no way can it compare to the quality of a Fender or Ampeg unit. Have you heard any of those???

I've heard the Fender reverb several times, I was not aware that Ampeg made a unit(heard all about the onboard verb)....

Am I crazy to like the Premier above the Fender?? I really like the verb(way too much most of the time), but I *love* the dry signal boost it gives....

  PT question
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I ordered three PT's (all between 125-140VAC secondary) from OldRadioParts.com but one of them only has 3 wires on the secondary, he labeled them as Red(HV), Red/Yellow(CT for both?), Green(6.3V) how would I use this tranny in a normal tube circuit? is something wrong here????

No your not crazy for liking the Premier, thats what makes the world go around. Its your ears that really count. I kinda like the way the dry boost crunches with my Matchless Clubman 35 also. Good Luck. Stan
