So, this is the circuit. I have removed the 4.7k and .68uf cap and replaced them with  a 2.7k with a 1uf bypass cap over it in parallel with the 15k resister. When the relay is switched in, I now get a thuddy pop. Before when the circuit was stock there wasn't any audible click or pop. Anyone have any ideas on how to silence the pop when switching the resister/ bypass cap in and out? Thanks.

here's what I did in a similar build, I don't like relays, and for some reason guitar players like knobs  :icon_biggrin:
Went Class C for efficiency

You are significantly changing the DC bias point. It's gonna POP.
