Show us some pics. Here's a schematic...
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

  •   Looks like a easy convert to a 18watt Marshall or matactless spirfire.

Wonder if this product had anything to do with the HeathKit folks... they were also in Benton Harbor, MI I believe.  Assembled several HeathKits when I was a kid.

to lazy to google history, I do know a couple acoustic players that have used modded versions and love how the amp does NOT "add" to their sound

No more related than Whirlpool, still in/near BH.

A century ago BH was hopping with docks and manufacturing. The Heath company goes to the early days of airplanes, but was traded-around. After WWII they ate surplus electronics and shipped kits.

VM was founded in that post-WWII period, and perhaps in the general atmosphere of low-rent buildings and surplus machinery, but seems to be no relation. They both faded-away at similar times, but if you did HeathKits you recall the global changes in electronics which doomed many old names.

Meanwhile BH has changed a lot, population fallen, property value gone.

BH has changed a lot
through the late '90's /2000's it was vying to become Detroit west, drugs, gangs.
It's trying to get back to the "better" days.  As a teen in the '70s was a great place to take your Girl
