Ampeg Early 90s Reverberocket R12R distorting and volume loss
« on: August 09, 2018, 09:17:54 pm »
My friends reverberocket is distorting with volume loss at the same time.  Seems like a lot of models are called the R12R.  Very little information on these on Youtube or google.  Fenders are so easy.  Not sure what to do with this pcb amp.

I have substituted all the tubes and that ain't it.  I did the moron's chop stick click to every resister and cap I could find and no noise.  I think I'll give the tubes a little twist to see if I can see any breaks on the board.

I forgot to say that when I put a new tube in the phase inverter position it played well for 1 minute.  Then when I hopingly put in the other 2 AX7s it played "great" for 1 minute before back to this distorted low volume distorted output.  That is strange...isn't it?  Then I swapped some other tubes just in case one I put in was bad and no improvements.

Fenders have "how to's" everywhere.  I'll have to look up how to trouble shoot.  Theres no info on these or helps for voltages or anything.

If its the output transformer...is there always another reason for the OT being trashed.

All help will be appreciated as always.
