now what do I build.

I am looking for ideas for a new amp build. Some suggestions. I recently purchased ( for a reasonable price of $20 Cad) a Traynor YT-15  circa 1972. 16 Ohm  with 2 -  15" speakers. even though it sounds okay on a Fender amp, I really want to build a head that has some grit, reverb , and a foot switch. Since I will alternate between a guitar and a bass, and possibly an electric cello in the future. Feel free to throw suggestions.

on a side note , is there anyone who can recommend a good company that does vintage recone for speakers. I have an 80 year old speaker that moths have dined on. lol.

 The Traynor sounds like it might be ok for bass with the 15's. If the Traynor has two channels you could run the bass in one channel and run guitar through another with effects--reverb--overdrive and use a A/B/Y switch to switch channels when needed. Just some thoughts!

A Deluxe Reverb in a good medium range amp---not to weak---not too loud that has reverb but--fitting a reverb tank into a head might take a tall head like a Bandmaster. You could always do the reverb and grit with pedals.In that case a Fender Tweed 5E3 head would fill the bill. Platefire

the 5E3 is a consideration, you made several valid points that I never took into consideration. I did build a tweed 5f6, but I put it in a enclosed cabinet. But with a head, I can always experiment, and possibly use it in another cabinet. I do like the A/B/Y switch and two channel.
