Doug--

A big THANK You for creating the component templates.  That is going to save a lot of time.

I am experiencing some weirdness when I try to download template files from the library .

If I understand right, the method is to right click the link, and select "save target as"

A few times doing it that way, it gave me the option to save as a DIY file type into the folder where I keep my DIY files.  I got a few of them downloaded into my folder, and they open fine.

But now when I right click and select "save target as" it is only offering me to save as an XML file.  It opens the right folder, but does not give the option to save as a DIY file.

What am I doing wrong.

I am not right clicking on the file names
I left click on the files and it offers to save to my local machine
Let me know if that works
If not give me a file name that does not work right

OK, when I left click on the file, it opens a code version of the file.

What I have now figured out, is that after I left click, open the code version of the file, and close it, THEN, I can right click, select save target as, and it will give me the option to save as a .DIY file.

That workaround only takes a couple seconds, so I can live with that.

For what its worth, I am running Windows 10, and use the Microsoft Edge browser.  I have not tried any other browsers.

Thanks again

Mark

Hmm, ok
I am using chrome and it works fine
Downloads the file on a left click

Just tested it in IE11
Left click opens the file as xml in a browser window
Right click - Save Target as tries to save as .xml
I had to change the file suffix to .diy and it was fine

Firefox
left click opens a dialog box with two choices - Open with a program or save file
Right click - save link as saves the file as a .diy file

Weird how all the browsers act differently

Thanks Doug.

I am also having trouble getting the new version installed.  I downloaded the zip file, but I don't know how to install.

Use the windows installer files, not the zip files
https://github.com/bancika/diy-layout-creator/releases/tag/v3.41.1

Hi Doug,

I am using Windows 7 Pro still:

1) I right click on your DIY files and it only gives only the option in the drop down menu below file naming as .xml - HOWEVER if one simply names the file and includes ".diy" it will save it as that type of file which then opens properly in the program.

2) I've been waiting a while for Bancika to fix the BOM to Excel issue and I received an email saying it is fixed in version 3.42.0 - however, this version is not available at this time. Only 3.41.1 is available as of now. Not sure if you've noticed or needed this?
To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.

I replied to your comment on github
he is working on several other things before releasing the next version
I paid him to create a cut line
I think it fired him up again to start working on DIYLC again

any chance your click circles program is still linkable?  I got a good layout and just need a "drill guide".
