Marshall Origin schematic?
« on: September 23, 2018, 06:15:10 am »
Hello

I wonder if anyone managed to reverse-engineer the PCB of Marshall Origin (esp. 20W model).
I am especially curious how tilt and boost work etc.
Is it still two channels, similar to old Plexis (1 x full 12AX7 per channel) but with blend/tilt control? Would channel cascading be possible?
For sure schematic would answer all these questions with ease.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Gitarzysta

A couple of months passed - any update on schematic availability?

I haven't had the chance to really take a close look at mine yet , I have the Origin  50 Head . It is a single channel amp . It doesn't come close to sounding like a plexi it is closer to a JCM 800 with a large amount of treble . The factory tubes are Chinese and they suck I replaced the preamp tubes with Tung Sol and the power tubes with Big Bottle 6CA7's this greatly improved the tone of this amp. I have the tilt turned all the way down. The amp likes pedals makes a world of difference.  If you bought this amp thinking you where buying a $500 plexi you will be disappointed.  However,  it is a Marshall it sounds like a Marshall.
Any tube unit can be brought back to life.
I never meet a tube I didn't like.
