Trading a 66 BF Vibro champ Amp

Someone wants to trade from my 1966 BF Vibro Champ, my Champ is in good condition, and excellent playing condition, all stock. They have a later Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue. And want to give me some cash too. THe Deluxe plays good, looks new.
But I know if I let this Vibro Champ go, I'll never get another one. Looks like the Vibro Champs are selling in the $700/$800 range, not sure.
Any advice on the trade, say $300 plus the Deluxe for my Vibro Champ...?
Just curious if I'm "crazy" for even thinking about the trade? I know it's a personal decision but I've sold old stuff in the pass that I wish I didn't...?

At some point I've always come to regret selling amps or guitars, with one exception... I never regretted selling my Silvertone 1484 because it was a cheap POS and it enabled me to buy an Ampeg Gemini II.

I suspect you will have regrets about trading your old Champ too. They ain't making any more. They are still cranking out those cheap DRRIs though.

Yeah, I had a BF Vibro Champ ten years ago, traded it, regretted it, got very lucky and got another for cheap recently ($225, needed a little work). Yeah, I'd be regretting it, thanks. I guess we all get the urge to buy, trade or sell our treasured possessions.


That little Champ has killer tone, and I'm not getting any younger, don't jam that often with a full band anymore but I do play alone for my own enjoyment. So, I'll keep it. Just loud enough for an old man too, ha.

Yep, some of my biggest regrets in life has been selling my equipment. I was trashed once and completely lost a Laney head. I still don't know what happened to it. Probably traded it for cigarettes. Anyways, Sluckey, I've gotta 1474 I might get rid of if you start feeling any guilt or remorse

No thanks! Give it to Platefire or Goodwill. 

There was only three reasons to buy a new Silvertone amp. Money, money, money. My 1484 cost $149 brand new. I could not afford a $350 Super Reverb at the time.

Yeah, I agree. Although I still think about picking up one of the "Jupiter" guitars off eBay. Snazzy!

The first band I ever played in back in '66... the other guitar picker had one of those black sparkle Silvertone guitars. 5 knobs!  Bet he still has it.

Hey, I like your trapeze tail 335 in the other thread. I bought a walnut colored one in '72. My oldest daughter has it now.

Thanks! The serial number dates it to '67 IIRC. It's my alternate tuning guitar. Right now it's in CGDGAD (DADGAD with the top 2 strings tuned down an extra step. It's my current favorite tuning and I've been writing a lot with it. Not really good for soloing but otherwise I love it.

just sold my '88 Dodge D100 for not much over scrap value, I can't make another one 
lived in it for 100 days  , but fate brought me a '03 Dodge!

I've always told my kids when they sold something of "value", it'll cost more, but down the road their will be one for sale or build

For what it's worth, I have the biggest dinosaur amp known to man.  Everyone including the dogs have to be out of the house and I have to wear earplugs (cats are on their own...).  Good condition they are going for huge bucks.  They will never be made again.  And it aint goin nowhere.....

PS back in the late 90's I sold my original Major that I bought in 1973 along with 4, 1982 "100" 4x12 cabinets that I bought in 1971,72. Big, big, big mistake.  The money was not worth it.  I thought I could build something that sounded just like it.  Yeah.... That's why I bought the one I have now.

Thanks for all info, the little champ ain’t going nowhere’s.  I have 15 guitars that I haven’t played in years and can’t part with any of them, wondering why I even thought of letting my BF Champ go....! i
