Supro Dual Tone Sort Of
« on: October 03, 2018, 12:31:13 pm »

Hey gang--I was curious about the Supro and inspired by sluckey's recent build. Pretty much had all the parts so you know where this was going. Minus the trem because I hardly ever use trem. The long and the short of it ended up that I really liked the tone with humbuckers but it certainly seemed to run out of gas with the tele. Most dirt/boost pedal color the signal more than I like and it just needed a little push. I ended up adding a LND150 to bring it up just 3x to 4x--and it is right where I hoped it would be.

The channel switch that sluckey uses is pretty clever. The cabinet is Sapele with maple/ebony trim (something I use repeatedly). The speaker is a Reaper HP.

Supro heresy for sure but whatever floats yer boat.... Regards

That looks WAAAY better than any Supro I've ever seen!
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Yeah, that looks great!

Nice job tweaking it to where you needed it.

WOW!  What a cool design and beautiful cab!  THANKS so much for sharing this.  It really looks remarkable.  Your cabinetry work is stunning.

I like your use of the LND150.  Bravo.

With respect, Tubenit

Thanks guys! This project was personally rewarding--because it was the first amp of so many I have built that fired up the first time without error. But trust me, I will get over it by the next one. :icon_biggrin: Regards
