GA15 RV turret board
« on: January 21, 2019, 06:22:12 pm »
Hi,
First post :icon_biggrin:

Any thoughts on how to build up a turret board for a Gibson (Trace Elliot designed and built) GA15RV? I have the schematic and component list (from the manual)
The amp sounds great but is constructed "to a price" with fairly skimpy PCB traces and machine stuffed with 1/4 watt resistors and low grade components.

I am planning on building a more robust version on a turret board.

Any help much appreciated

Read the first two topics in the "Hoffman Turret and Eyelet Boards" forum.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Thanks for the reply.
I had already read those posts, but there is no info on how to transfer a schematic to a .dxf file.

That seems to be the tricky part-do you have to do this manually or is there a prog which accepts scanned schematics and generates a layout for turret or eyelet boards? Obviously there are lots of decisions in there regarding grounding scheme, power supply topology etc.

Open the very first topic and look at the second line in the first post. Click on the link to go to Doug's program to create a custom board. Now click the button that says "Click here to create a new Board file". Follow the instructions to start putting turrets on a blank board.

I think you're looking to submit a schematic, and have it automatically turned into a layout? if so, not on this site. You create the layout yourself on graph paper or whatever, and then manually input the info where Sluckey said.
Tapping into the inner tube.
