Can this be done for troubleshooting?

I'm in need of a signal generator for troubleshooting my amps reverb. Could the calibration output on my Oscilloscope double as a free signal generator if I fed it into the amps input jack. Maybe through a pot though to reduce the 5v down.

If no on the question above would one of these work.

5V is a lot for a guitar input. Pot it down.

If you are going to spend money, I'd prefer more than a single frequency. I'm shocked Jameco is not pushing one at me, but they do push a Vein Finder.....

The classic TENMA hand-held, $60. It looks like it has a readout but in fact it is a leftover DMM case and the "readout" is only LO BATT. More than enough freq steps for any guitar-tech.

The Future, now that the XR2206 is out of production. A tiny processor computes the waves. You get more resolution and accuracy; but at ~~$10-$30 you get it through little pushbuttons instead of honest knobs.

Thanks I had no idea some nice options existed for those prices. Heck I would have already had something before finishing this amp. Lol
