Hello EL34world,
My name is Miguel Padilla and I live in Gilbert, Az. I am 36 and somewhat newly married going on 4 years. I work for a semi-conductor company here in Chandler, Az so the guitar amp world is right up my alley. I basically do the same thing as populating an eyelit board and soldering, expect I do it on a computer for devices nanometers small. I got my B.A. from the University of Arizona in Art Education and then my layout design degree from Pima Community College in Tucson, Az - my hometown.
As my subject states, I am glad to be apart of this forum at last. I was a frequent visitor for the past year and a half getting loads of valuable information from all the moderators here. Now, it has come time to ask my own question with a custom Blackface Bassman build.
My first tube amp buld was a 5E3. It went ok I suppose with the expection I had my main B+ line connected in the wrong spot causing my audio to have this annyoing hum. I had to take that one into a tech. Since then, my skills have evolved considerably. I have built (in order) a Blackface Twin, a Deluxe Reverb with a Super Reverb OT, Marshall Super Lead, Blackface Super Reverb and my latest a custom Deluxe Reverb with no tremolo, channel jumping switch, dwell, midranges on both channels and a resonance control that works quite well! It's a 2 X 10 with a custom faceplate. I love each of my amps and they sound phenominal. The best part is when I had issues during the build, I didn't have to take it to a tech. Thanks to forms like this, I was able to make sense of the issues I was having. Whatever moderators are reading this, I am sure you have helped me - so thank you!
I apprecaite Mr. Hoffman's service and selection from his online store. I am a frequent customer of his and appreciate this website in general. So much available to learn from and build!
I need to come to a stopping point (somewhat) soon to make my wife happy. She doesn't understand tube amps or guitars etc etc. That would be the dream if she did! Her catch phrase is "ANOTHER AMP?"

Looking forward to my experieces here and if I can, I would like to help another amp builder out if I can. I have some experience now but none that equates to the guys that run this!
Best regards,
Miguel Padilla
