Reverb - quick determinion of input/output connections
« on: June 08, 2019, 01:43:50 pm »
As the question implies: I have a Carvin amp that came without it's tank. After buying a new MOD tank for it, I don't want to take the chassis out of the cab to determine which is the input and which is the output. It works plugged in both ways. But one of the RCA jacks makes noise when touching/holding it and turning up the Reverb control, the other doesn't. So is this the tank's output connection that leads to the recovery triodes, then pi, then power amp section? Just want to confirm. Thanks-

If just WAG'in I'd say the output rca would buzz b4 the input, or at least with more zeal  :icon_biggrin:
Went Class C for efficiency

Forgot to add the schematic to help see what it is.

Can you pull V2 and identify which cable has QC14 as the center pin by measuring R14 (47k) to ground for the Recovery cable.
