if you read under the "attachments and other options"  you'll read this;
Quote
maximum total size 2048KB, maximum individual size 1024KB

now if you're still unsure, send the pic to your email, most phones will resize too acceptable, me, I open in my viewer, click edit, resize, and shoot for ~~ 400kb

I post my photos to the https://imgur.com/ site, and then insert the link using the "insert image" option

> rotation is wrong

This problem may never be solved. Cameras/cellphones tag the picture according to how they think you are holding the camera. Picture viewers (including web browsers) may or may not understand. Apparently not all cameras use the same codes. Intermediate image-editing apps may or may not correctly handle the codes; mine probably drops them (too old), some may rotate without re-coding tags, etc...

Otherwise: you got it!!  (And IMHO, on-forum is neater than external sites, even Imgur.)

Ciao Labb

now you know all that you require to post a picture

may be you are interested also to know how to show an image without load it on the forum

Go to an image host online service (I use https://imgur.com, it is free and very easy to use) and upload your image there (the image upload has less restriction and you can upload images larger than in the forum)

after you uploaded an image on an host site, copy the link of the image, then, when you are writing the post on the forum use the image link

(the little Mona Lisa image under the Bolt option) the first button on the second row

finish your post and Post it, done

This way the image is on the Image Host server and is only show on your post

if you want you can show it with dimensins of your choice, after you posted, edit your post, you'll find a row like this
(don't consider * character, is there to have the row readable and not interpreted by the program)

[i*mg]https://i.imgur.com/iPVyox3.png[/i*mg]

modify it in

[i*mg width=300]https://i.imgur.com/iPVyox3.png[/i*mg]

where 300 is how large you want to show the image, simply

External free photo hosting websites have a tendency to either go out of business, or change their policies. In either case, you either pay up, or lose all the photos you uploaded. Just ask the millions of Photobucket users who were abruptly told in 2017 that they had to pony up $399 / year if they wanted their images hosted on Photobucket hotlinked to display on other sites. Or look up all the other free image hosting services that either vanished or started demanding money.

This is the not-so-nice part of putting your data in "the cloud" - you no longer own it or have control over it.

I agree with PRR, the post on the cloud can save some problem (limitation to the dimensions of the file posted and save space on the server of the forum) but you really don't have control on your files and the lose of data isn't impossible)
