Anyone ever installed one of the London Power FPM 2 channel Fender Preamp kits?  If so what were your impressions?  Thanks.

I have done this mod a few times.   The best candidates are true 2 channel blackface and silverface Fenders.  Modding a factory PC board is not practical.   Hoffman AB763 boards are the easiest to mod.You will also need the ERK kit for channel switching.  I like it for classic rock.  A little grind can be pushed by a pedal for lead tones or use your guitar volume. There is enough drive available to turn a Strat to cream. Tapping is possible.   The clean side is pure Fender circuitry and sounds as such.  You need to own "The Ultimate Tone" by Kevin O'Connor. It is a terrific resource.  His kit instructions don't really offer much more than just the parts.  So if you have the book you can use your own parts for the preamp mod.  Jim
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench--a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men left to die like dogs.   There is also a negative side.

TUT1: It's is on the London Power website, FPM page:

Our FPM 2-Channel Fender Preamp Mod converts the preamp channels in a vintage Fender amp to those of the “LPSP” London Power Standard Preampdescribed in our book, The Ultimate Tone Vol. 1 (TUT1).

Thanks, I went back and checked it out. There is sooooo much info in those books it's hard to remember what is where.... lol.

The LP Standard is one of my "bucket list" amps. I'd probably massively simplify the power amp section though.
