What is New Replacement For Diode in Fender Amp?

1n4007 (1n400(1-7))should be more than needed since there should be very little current.  replace the cap also, verify the circuit works AND you can get full range of bias WITHOUT the tubes in.

Almost all diodes in small-medium tube guitar may be replaced with 1N4007 (1,000V).

This *particular* case, a 1N4002 (100V) would be fine. I remember when it was cheaper than 1N4007. Today they are the same price until you buy several thousand-- they run a penny each but for DIY quantity you pay $0.20-$0.50/ea (either type) for somebody to pluck a few from the box. Best to get a 10-bag of 1N4007 and use them everywhere.

You can get 1,000 "1N4007" for $5  from anonymous Asian sites; these may be bogus. Get known-good 1N4007 from reputable vendors like Hoffman, Mouser, DigiKey, Small Bear, etc. (Hmmm: Hoffman is a few cents less than DigiKey for a 10-bag.... DigiKey may have a lower price but their listings are mind-blowing big.)

A see many replace the 1N4007 (1,000v) with beefier diodes, more volts, so I take it "no amp running less than 500volts B+"  needs anything beefier than a 1N4007 for rectification?

Yes, 500V of DC is a limit. Also if you look in the back and find rows of big bottles, you *could* be over the practical current limit of 1N4007.... four 6L6 could be marginal.
