Red-Nek Circuity PortaBuzz B-15
« on: November 30, 2019, 12:06:17 pm »
Hello Everyone.  Happy long weekend!  I'm wondering if anyone in here has heard of the PortaBuzz B-15 circuit layout by Red-Nek Circuity and where I can find files of it.  I'm working on this Ampeg preamp with the 12AX7 and 6SL7 separate circuits and even though that amp has a power section and this one doesn't it looks like a good reference for what I am doing.  Anyone heard of it?

Awesome!  Thanks echuta13.  I do believe this is the amp the previous builder was emulating with his preamp design.  The one difference is that he was using a 6SL7 and a 12AX7 tube.  This is supposed to be a 1960s and a 1970s style Ampeg preamp blended by separate volume controls into one preamp unit.  I need to figure out how to dump the entire power tube section and deliver the output to a balanced output.  Also the previous assembly is using a headphone amplifier and a balanced level output.

The previous unit was using a DIY HC1 high current headphone amp board for the headphone output:

And for the balanced out he had the DIY balanced output board:

There was what appears to be a homemade regulated 9 volt power supply but I'll probably want to install a more commercial unit.

I'll use the aforementioned units in this build since I already have them.  I've attached the hand drawn layout in PDF done by the previous builder.  Also below is the link to the build thread with the layout by BuzzKing:
