BYOC

Ey! I was wondering if anyone has built any of the kits from BYOC. I've built a few now and am content with all of them. The last one was the "Crown Jewel" and I've built all but 4 of the modules for the boost side of it. It gets praise and excellent reviews but I'm not overly impressed with it. It seems as though no matter how you adjust it the mid range is lacking or overly abundant. Anyways, just wondering if anyone else has built it, what you thought and settings you use. Anyways here's a link...https://buildyourownclone.com/products/crown-jewel

I've been playing around with this a bit more and it sounds pretty descent but despite how it's adjusted it always sounds like a stationary wah pedal is on. That's pretty cool for some applications but I don't think I can reserve a spot on my pedal board for it. It is loads of fun when you're bored/impaired and feel like twisting knobs and it was a very fun build. I can get it sounding pretty awesome if I adjust mids on my amp but then when I switch it off my amp sounds like shit. You'd think with all the options you could plug a vacuum cleaner into it and sound amazing. I don't know.... anyways...dave

Oi! I guess no one is familiar with this pedal kit but... I just discovered it sounds pretty awesome with a little amp. I got it running into a EHX Lester G and stereo into a Vibro Champ and a Bronco (which is identical to the Vibro Champ.... not sure why this circuit was given 2 different names). But anyways, yeah, it is very nice. In summation, little amps= good, big amps= ass.
