Reverb troubles with my '77 Fender Super Twin
« on: February 01, 2020, 09:00:05 am »
Hi you all, i am new here. Just a happy guitar player that wants to keep my amps working.
i have a question about my '77 Fender Super Twin reverb Amp, the one with, 6 x 6L6, 180 W and the strange fuzzy distortion.
Somebody nicked my spring reverb, and i don't know which one i have to put in the amp. i tried a spring reverb which works in an other fender amp, but it doesn't work in this amp. Just get a really tiny bit of reverb when i turn it all the way up. There's some kind of reverb stage with strange tubes: 6C10 and 6CX8.
I don't know if there's a special spring for the amp, or if i can just buy the 2 or 3 spring reverb tank and there's another thing wrong ... old tubes or ... ?
It would be great if anybody with some experience / knowledge could help me out here,
 Cheers Han Ernest!

The standard Fender reverb unit, Accutronics 4AB3C1B, should work just fine.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

New tanks are shipped with foam under the springs and transducers.  Did you remember to remove that when you installed the new tank?  Ask me how I know?
