opening posted pics

I used to be able to doubleclick a posted .jpg and get "open file", now I have to save to,, then open 

Is that my end??

Double-clicking an image does different things for me. So an obvious question: Windows? Flavor 3.11, Me, Win7, Win10? Mac? 6, 10, Tiger, Lion, Alleykat? Amiga? iPad? Android? FireFox, Edge, Explorer, Surfari, Opera....?

In Windows there is a HUGE MASS of "rules" for what to do with a clicked thing. And Windows tends to lose track of what it is doing. I have told it dozens of times where to stick a PDF but it still keeps asking.

Cat below, single-click makes it bigger (because forum has wrapped it in a resize script). RIGHT-click opens a long list of dumb choices.

Goo n Bill have been dumping Megs and I haven't been able to stop them.
I'll keep hunting in the settings but that's changed, no more "disk clean" tab on the device properties , gotta call it up from control panel 

and, ya I go back to dos 4 or 5, all the wins til 7

Yes, it is on your end
Photos always open for me
And files always download for me

But I had this issue a long time ago and had to do a google search to fix it on my windows machine
I don't remember how I fixed

some progress, can now open in new link and zoom!!!
still CAN'T open in new tab any pdf's 

I don't know where the world went wrong!  in '79 a 16bit 250k program could control 2 guided missile systems tracking objects at Mach 1.2.  in '20 I can't view a file online with 40 gig

I've done it now!!!!
I loaded Msoft EDGE, now my fonts are wonky, all the smilieys are ALIVE!!!!
