Fender 6G14-A Showman Clone weird hum
« on: June 26, 2020, 11:59:29 am »
Hi all. I just finished my Fender 6G14-A Clone about a week ago, cabinet and everything is done. But ever since I've built it I've had this weird hum. Everything is grounded properly. I used classictone transformers. I watched a YouTube video of someone building a Princeton Reverb and they said the two wires going to the power tubes from the output transformers might be swapped, he said there's a 50/50 chance you'll get it right. I just followed the layout/schematic and brown and blue went to their corresponding places. Could I be wrong when I wired it?

like you said 50/50, easy to swap unless you cut 'em real short.
Went Class C for efficiency

Would it hurt the amplifier at all if I try it? This was my first build.

my device won't let me listen, so
can't help narrow it;

no, it won't hurt the amp

I tried it, didn't change. Oh well, it's not that bad!
