Head cabinet general rules of thumb?
« on: September 11, 2020, 06:57:04 am »
My brother in law has graciously offered to build a head cabinet for my newly built Blackvibe. I need to provide dimensions and I wanted to ask the group if there are some general rules of thumb for how much room to leave between the tubes and transformers and the cabinet for heat dissipation and such.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated.

The only thing I can add is, if you think you might ever upgrade to having a reverb, you'll want enough space between the reverb tank and amp to avoid excess hum. I read on RobRob's site to use the silver face Dual Showman Reverb head cab dimensions for minimum height.

Edited to correct referenced amp cabinet model.
