AO-29-13 - First Amp Build any and all help appreciated

Just bought my first electric guitar and amp about 6weeks ago. then my second guitar. now I have somehow gotten my hands on an old Hammond M100 amp and I am going to try and build an amp. No prior knowledge building amps but I am interested in learning so any help would be greatly appreciated on this new journey!

Hey Ive recently gotten my hands on an AO-29-13 amp from an old hammond. looking to build my first guitar amp with. have no experience so any and all advice and direction would be huge and greatly appreciated.

yes it is stamped AO-29-13
and i believe it is not the field coil version.

Any ideas would be great. no clue what i am doing here.

This pic shows some differences between the FC and no-FC versions. Take a look and compare to your actual amp. Let us know fir sure which you have.

To help you we need more informations. Building a amp is not like doing a puzzle.

Wow big job ! I will take few years to learn.

First learn how to solder,( no it not easy). Most beginner amp / guitar building issue come from bad solder.
You need to buy the right and good tools.

Second ; start with a complete small amp kit, not this hammond.

You are probably not wrong but I am pretty invested in making this my first build.

Any suggestions of soldering kits? How similar is Soldering to stick welding?

I figure I need a multimeter too

I figure while this will most definitely be more difficult, I will probably learn some stuff along the way!

You will receive dozens of suggestions.

i would suggest starting small on low voltage things like guitar effects pedal kits. if you do something horribly wrong at 9v maybe you'll ruin an ic but very little chance of dying. after a few pcb pedal kits try to follow a schematic and build a pedal on perfboard
after a few of those try out maybe a fender champ kit. everything works good, nothing smoking and not dead from high voltage shock? try a more involved kit
there's a lot of reading about how electronics work that i'd suggest as well (NEETS electronics course pdfs are wonderful)
just like as a toddler you didn't get up on two feet and immediately run a marathon, there are small incremental steps to take to build up to where you want to be. and a ton of great online communities like this one too help you

There are many threads on this subject on this forum. Since you are firm, I will not try to talk you into building a champ type amp first (have you thought about building a champ type amp first?) But i do suggest you buy a small Hoffman turret board and practice soldering. There is forum board on tools and the instructions for soldering on Doug's site are really good. You seem like a learn by doing sort, and that's a valid way in my book, just read up on safety, including how capacitors hold a charge. Although many here do not like the stuff, cloth covered pushback wire is easy wire to learn with.

It is only for reading capacitance.
Not testing filter caps discharge with voltages test
Did it show if caps are leaky ?

Many multimeter can do that.

But with this kit it is a good way to learn how to solder and build electronic at low price
