125A6AX OT
« on: January 18, 2021, 03:04:53 am »

I wonder the low primary (4K) of this OT.
I would rather see the value like 6-8K. Since it has 4 and 8 output it can be adapted for 16 and 8 with 8K primary.

seems to be the same primary impedance for the classic tone (rip) replacement transformers for these amps and lines up with the 6l6gc datasheets for optimum power output vs thd (looks like there's a dip around 3k5 of one is looking to minimize distortion)

but yes, the reflected primary impedance if one were to run 16 ohm load off the 8 ohm tap or 8 ohms off the 4 ohm tap would be 8k4
