Bleeding Resistors

Is there a way to use just one 220K bleeder in an amp with a rectifier tube? I have the first filter connected to the rectifier tube and ground, bleeder on the rectifier pin to ground. With amp off and standby off, only that first cap is drained, of course if I leave amp off and standby on, all caps bleed. But hoping to use just one bleeder to drain all caps with both amp and standby off, anyway to hook up this one bleeder to accomplish this?

Yes. Just put a short jumper across the STBY switch contacts.

Wouldn't that make the standby useless when the amp is on and STBY off, current would flow through STBY in off...?
Maybe the jumper should be a 220K 3 watt resistor..?

But you only wanted to use one resistor.

In standby, the tubes drain the later caps.

In fact if it didn't drain, it would not stand by.

Put your meter in there and see.

Exactly! Then you could disconnect the standby switch completely and rewire it to do something useful instead.

Why's everybody against STBY, yeah you probably don't need it on most amps? But they've been used for decades, right Leo? My face plate says "Standby", (nice and pretty logo),  I've been changing holes with switches for years, mod this, mod that. I'm back to basics, done with all the switches, bells and whistles, maybe an extension speaker jack in the back for a mid or Master volume pot but that's it for me now.


PRR, your right, use one bleeder, amp "OFF, STBY ON" bleeding down the rail.


Sluckey, you gave me the nice way to to say, STBY, "what's that...?"    I noticed not many of your amps have a STBY...
 
No two ways about it, leave STBY on with amp off, but the new owner doesn't know this, he see's the Bleeder and gets kicked on his..., well butt. 
OK, bottom line, don't use a STBY or use two bleeders, just was looking for the "magic wand" to come out... .

I'm not against standby switches. But what you initially asked is impossible to do so I was just funnin' you.

You're right, impossible, that's why I asked the question,  .  Like most of my questions, I already know the answers, ha, just looking for confirmation. I apologize for some off-the-wall questions, that if I though more about it, already know the answer. I've been too quick to type, need to do a little more thinking and use the knowledge that Sluckey and others here have taught me.   
Anyway, that Old Flame I was freaking out about, just had a bad pot swing. I should have though more about the problem, rather typing, I finally figured it out on my own, a pretty simple solution. Amp sings like a bird now.


Anyway, Spring is coming, hopefully more jams are coming soon too, get your shot, if you lucky to find one
