Speaker crossovers
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a little off-topic but I couldn't find a link to speakers.
I am building my own bass speakers using JBL 2245H and two D-140F's. I have two seperate enclosures, one for the 18 and one for the two 15's. I thought about adding two mid 12's in a seperate enclosusre thinking that I could switch between the 18 and the 15's and wondered what I should use for the crossover, any thoughts??????

Thanks but they are too whimpy. I need to handle at least 300watts.

I would look again where Ken pointed you. If you go into the Pro sound area there a crossovers in the 400 to 600 watt RMS category.

Yep, you are right. I think the 500/1600hz cross will work fine. I am going to call them mon. and see.

Since you are starting from scratch and obviously not afraid to go to some effort, how about going with an active crossover and bi amp setup?
I'm thinking something like an SVT into an 18 or two 15s and a 100W Bassman or Sunn S2000 into a four 10 or four 12 cab.
I'd crossover at 200-300Hz.

I am trying to keep down the number of items that are needed to lug around. I am pretty maxed out with those enclosures and the one amp. I don't know if the gain would be worth the price.
