Silverface Super Reverb Question
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I need a little help, if possible, guys.
I have seen a Silverface Fender Super Reverb in eBay which I would like to go for as my next project. It has already been modded to Blackface spec. Thing is, to quote the seller, "it sounded great for about 10 minutes then started a loud buzzing", which happens with or without anything plugged in. He also tried leaving it on for a while after the buzzing started and it blew the 2A fuse.
I thought it might have been something like a ground connection coming loose, but it would appear not. Maybe the filter caps need replacing? It hasn't been played for two years or so.
I don't really want to go the complete circuitboard rebuild route if I can help it, but I am prepared to if needs be.
My questions - what do you think I should bid up to, and what do you think the likely cause of the problem is?
Thanks
Chris

Maybe arcing in the output transformer, rectifier or output tube.
