DIYLC 4.22.1 import Variant Error

Just downloaded DIYLC 4.22.1; my OS is Win11
Do the EL34 library templates (xml and diy) work with this version?
I am getting error "cannot import variants" (I  follow the readme file instructions)

Also Tried the 9pin belton xml from earlier topic

update:
was able to get the 9 pin to import
was able to get the diy to open then save
Still cannot import the el34 library xmls

I just tested a clean install of 4.22.1 on my windows 10 machine
It will import variants


It will not import the hoffman building blocks file
