Old cars
« on: March 10, 2022, 11:03:39 pm »
One of my many hobbies is working on my 1931 Ford Model A. We get together every Saturday to work on our cars and just hang out. We take the cars to lunch when the weather is good and we attend several club events throughout the year.

There is nothing like driving a group of old cars and seeing the reactions on peoples faces as we go by. Lots of fun.

I was the same way when I was young, I took apart everything to see how it worked. My mom loved telling the story of how I built my own tricycle when I was 4 years old. I found 2 "big boy" tricycles in a vacant lot near my house, one a a broken front wheel and the other had broken back wheels. I used the good parts to make one work, I rode that thing everyday. Been wrenching ever since.

jamaio - My Mom had a Model A and drove it through the WW-II years. I have been focused on old MGs and Alfa Romeos, but I am thinking about a Model A. When in college I worked in a paper mill and drove an industrial truck - Pettibone Mercury that had a Model A engine running on propane. A lot of airports still have Pettibone Mercurys with Model A engines. What a workhorse those engines are.
