Ok, so I've got this DR on my bench. When the footswitch is plugged in and you power on the amp, one of the relays buzzes. It appears to be connected to the Relay that controls the LED on Channel 3, as this LED can be seen flickering after turning the power on. It only happens for a brief moment and only seems to be when the footswitch is plugged in and the channel selector on rear is on FTSW. Also, it only happens on the first time the unit is powered up. So I'm curious if maybe a cap issue.
I'm curious if anyone else has found a solution to this issue. I've scoured the net and found one person complaining about a similar issue, but everyone was trying to say it was transformer buzz and it's definitely not the transformer.
I have checked the +/-3V rails and both are great. I've checked the zener and it is good with the 1.5V present. Here is the schematic:
http://www.tangible-technology.com/schematics/Mesa/3chSoloHead.pdfI just disconnected the footswitch and powered the amp on with the channel selector on FTSW and it doesn't happen. I've tested the footswitch cable for shorts, but not finding anything unusual. It would appear the problem resides within the footswitch, but not sure where. I don't have a schematic for the Big Foot and I can't seem to find one. Does anyone have a schematic of this footswitch? Or have you seen this issue before and know where it stems? Any help is greatly appreciated.
