IEC connector location
« on: July 15, 2022, 12:23:28 pm »
I’m considering substituting an IEC connector to the chassis instead of standard power cord. I just realized it would be quite close to the rectifier tube. Grabbing in there to unplug might be a bad idea. Any thoughts?

Depends on the amp. Ive used them on blues jr rebuilds with no issue.

Pics of the plan would help.

DON'T DO IT! Ain't worth it for a 5F2A.
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Yea I’m agreeing. It would only be an inch away from the rectifier tube on the 5F2A. No other option unless it’s mounted in the cabinet.
