How to make my amp see 8 ohms as 4 ohms
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 2245H JBL that is going to be part of my bass spkr system. At the present time I am going to have it in a single enclosure seperate from the other two 15in speakers. How can I make my amp see this speaker as a 4 ohm load from the crossover instead of the 8 ohm speaker it is?

Can you connect it to a 16-ohms tap?

I am assuming the 2x15 is wired in parallel for 4 ohms. If you wire the JBL in parallel with this cab you will get 2.66 ohms. That is close enough to the 2 ohm output isn't it?

JBL says.......Don't worry about the impedence difference. Tube amps are much more forgiving at clipping levels than transistors and the slight loss is going to be negligable. Also, to get 3 db more I would have to double the PO and at 300+ watts I don't think I am going to look for a 600watt out amp. Just be mindful of the impedence. I don't really want to run the amp at 2 ohms out.
