Good morning from Japan!!

Hello guys, here's a real quick intro! 

I'm just an old dude in Japan, bought my very first computer two days ago solely for joining this forum.
I have no social media account, and this is my first ever forum..... I guess it was just a matter of time.

I've built one amp in the past, a Mojotone Tweed Deluxe 5E3 Style.  Was a fairly easy build, just really hated the heater wires! 

I'm now giving a Hoffman AB763 Two-Channel (Deluxe Reverb) a shot..... a bit more complex but it's coming around! 

I've tried to stay off the forum, have bugged Doug way too many times and he's always been super helpful answering my noob questions.  So I figured it's time I give Doug a break so I bought this dang computer and will start asking my questions here........

Not really sure where you're getting Virginia Beach, but maybe that's because I'm using wifi on a US Navy base?  No clue how any of this works.

But I'm pretty sure that I'm in Japan....... I mean I'm old but not senile!

Yes. I'm sure the Navy has a huge private network. And their gateway router(s) to the WWW is located in Virginia beach. All computers on that private network must go through that gateway router to reach the WWW. They will all appear to have originated from that gateway.

EDIT... I doubt it's quite this simplistic, but you get the idea.

What in the world are you calling west coast?  Japan is not west coast.

The 7th fleet is ported in CA heads West when deployed, keep going past Hawaii a few thousand miles, Japan.
hence East Coast Sailors n West Coast versions

in '79/80, we sailed from the east coast to the Indian ocean, crossed the equator, the day from HELL!  hazing was still cool then.  I recall someone saying wait til we cross the international date line....
thankfully the Iranians had a bunch of Americans trying to get through TSA, I never made it across the date line.
