Standalone power amp unit

Hi all, I want to build myself a rackmount power amp unit since I've been building alot of preamps lately. I am thinking I want to make it 50w EL34/6L6 using the mesa boogie dual rectifier power amp circuit.

I am just wondering how I would go about with the input section, would anyone recommend maybe a 12ax7 buffer input to go before the phase inverter? Or would I be fine just making the input jack go straight to the phase inverter. The input is only ever going to see line level signal anyways.

Anyone have any recommendations for features/input sections for a standalone power amp like this?

You don't need a buffer on the power amp input. Any buffer would be put on the output of the preamp and only if you will have a long cable connecting the preamp to the power amp. If only using a foot long patch cable no buffer should be required.

I built one one time and I put an AB763 reverb circuit right before the phase inverter. No buffer before that though. Worked really well. I lost interest in it after a while and some guy couldn't live without it, so it's gone.

Show us a schematic! I can't find a 50W dual rectifier circuit.

If you ever want to hit the amp with a cool stompbox, no preamp needed.
