Also 1937, but maybe needs more colors?
Hey!!! It starts on grey, not black!
Adding a 1966 page showing both systems.

by the time I was learn'n 'bout Resistors it had evolved/de-volved to what bad boys did behind victory garden walls,

I learned that old system using the acronym "BED"... Body End Dot
A schematic, layout, and hi-rez pics are very useful for troubleshooting your amp. Don't wait to be asked. JUST DO IT!

Well my eyes went to what appears to be a Ric Flying Pan and amp. Don't know how many times I've researched history on the electric guitar and amp.Tickled me that on the amp head shown, all the tubes and transformers were exposed. If I remember correctly the Flying Pan and amp had been out a couple of years by then.

We don't think about snow plows very much here in Louisiana:>)

On the resistor code/colors, I have to re-train myself every time I do a project

since the resistors got a make-over circa '90s and blue became the body color, I don't even bother, i just ohm them out bag them up, label.
orange isn't orange, green isn't green.... :cussing:

Kiesel is of course (I forgot) Carvin.

Different bad reproduction of the same image in another 1937 rag, from an eBay offer. Same blurb except "seven strings" is mentioned.

Epic
A bus stops at a bus station. A train stops at a train station. On my desk, I have a work station.
