Thoughts on hybrid PCB/turret construction?

I was playing around with an idea for incorporating radial filter caps into a build using a PCB with turrets for the axial components (resistors, diodes) - see the attached image. The idea is to have the through holes and pads for the axial components to be sized appropriately to install turrets (swaged and soldered) - kinda similar to how the pins and receivers work for discrete op amps in older outboard gear. I know the turrets wouldn't be strictly necessary in a setup like this, but I like them.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Any gotchas or issues to look out for?

I see only one problem

the radial caps will be fixed at the bottom of the PCB, the other components on Turrets are fixed on the Top side of the PCB

if there are problems with one radial cap as to perform maintenance you loose the practicality of Turret mounted components, like if you are working in a standard PCB circuit

I thought of that too kagliostro, and I did play around with a full turret layout that had the radial caps on their sides. The only issue I had with that approach is how much more space it takes up, at least with the caps I was using - the 220uF caps are fairly tall/long.
